Simple Step-By-Step System to EFT Failure

EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique, and it’s the new meridian tapping technique for resolving emotional and physical issue, with ease.

With tongue firmly in cheek, here are 7 classic mistakes to avoid, if you want results with EFT…

- Indulge Your Client’s Need To Talk

They’ve probably come to you from 20+ sessions of counseling, so make sure you accommodate your client’s need for never ending chat and commentary about their entire life without ever getting to the real problem, and maybe (maybe) you’ll get to one round of tapping at the end of the session.

Constantly talk ABOUT their many different problems without ever actually getting in to any of them.

- Oversell & Underdeliver

When promoting EFT, make no comparisons to the healing speed of counseling, traditional medicine, or any other widely used modality that would make EFT appear favourable.

Instead, focus on the miracle one-minute-wonder properties of this mysterious new eastern method.

Make sure to emphasis that it works for everyone, without exception.

- Insist On Doing It “Just Like Gary”

Study Gary Craig’s EFT DVDs, take the nuggets of learning.

Practice with clients in precisely the same way. Don’t enter into any kind of flexibility. Don’t allow yourself to use anything other than EFT.

Don’t even think about just having a simple conversation with your client. And don’t tap on a specific phrase unless Gary has explicitly demonstrated it before you.

- Use EFT Liberally As Your Party Trick

In hushed tones, with as much ego as possible, tell your friends you’ve discovered the missing link that instantly cures all ills.

Gather large crowds around to witness your grandiose showmanship and semi-religious healing abilities.

Also try getting yourself in as many high pressure broadcasting situations as possible.

Particularly look for complex problems with many aspects for these scenarios, as they are well known for their one-minute-wonders.

- Take It All Very Personally

When a client realises that clearing issue X, requires first clearing issue Y, and gets scared off, immediately feel very hurt and rejected and do not tap on it.

Take their need to deal with issues at their pace as an indicator of your dire incompetence as a therapist, and decide that actually this EFT game is not for you after all.

- Do Not Follow Up With Previous Clients

After finishing with a client, make sure you don’t mention how EFT can also help with their other problems, or even their friends’ issues.

Don’t set the expectation when working with clients that you will call them in a few weeks to check on their progress. That would seem like you care, and might lead to more bookings (or, even worse, referrals!…)

And, setting up an auto responder to do it for you automatically is just plain nuts!!

- Scavenge Mercilessly For That Missing Info

Constantly flick from book to book, blog to blog, site to site, looking for the elusive EFT nugget you’ve been missing all this time.

Especially after you were unable to help one specific client with multiple problems and great expectations. Assume you’re doing something wrong, that EFT “doesn’t work”, and, with manic ADHD, devour as much EFT news and info as you can, as fast as you can, in case you miss something. My God, it might even be the next ‘law of attraction’.

Meanwhile, get nothing done, see no clients, create no new products or trainings, follow up on zero previous customers, make zero income.

I’ve got more…but you get the idea.

How many of these mistakes are you making? It’s surprising how many competent and highly trained therapists make these biggies. As I’ve said, I’m no exception.

These days, I prefer to aim for success, by consistently doing the opposite of that above. Clients seem to like that more (me too).
